Group of three (3) framed Chinese rank badges, embroidered in silver, gilt and colored threads on blue grounds with forbidden stitching and embroidered borders, including two (2) silver pheasant badges corresponding with the fifth civil rank and one (1) left-facing paradise flycatcher corresponding to the ninth civil rank. All housed in molded wood frames with beaded edges. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 12" W. Framed: 13 1/2" H x 14" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All badges with wear, scattered minor fraying and losses. Flycatcher badge panels not centered or completely joined.
