Continental School, 19th century oil on canvas painting of a village scene, depicting a man securing his horse as he arrives at a home or inn with open window above. Unsigned. Antique giltwood frame with acanthus, husk, and bead moldings. Sight – 17"H x 14"W. Frame – 27"H x 25"W.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Dr. Ken and Linda Moore.
CONDITION: Lined, with some craquelure and a 1 1/2" patch, lower right (near horse's hoof). Some slight paint flaking around outer edges of painting. Frame in overall good condition with later gilding, 1" repaired loss to sight edge of the frame lower center, and some shrinkage cracks.
