1st item: Large Japanese Aesthetic Movement polychrome and parcel gilt porcelain urn having faux bronze bamboo form mounts including a knot form finial and base, gilt bamboo forms trisecting body, floral sprays designed by Edward Raby and Frank Roberts, and bamboo knot base. Maker's mark (with date letter "U") and retailer's mark for Bigelow Kennard & Co. Boston stamped to underside; maker's mark and numbering impressed to underside. 20" H x approx. 10" dia. Circa 1883. 2nd item: Potpourri jar with reticulated lid, inner liner, flowering branch design, and molded basket weave decorations. Stamped with makers mark, H.S., date mark for 1889, and #1286 with additional lettering to underside; impressed makers mark and number to underside. Additional maker's marks stamped to underside lids. 12" H x approx. 8 1/4" dia. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Minute area of surface wear measuring 1/8" x 1/4". 2nd item: Previous repair to finial of reticulated lid. Minor scattered wear to gilt.
