American walnut Davenport desk, shaped gallery with writing surface that lifts to reveal a fitted interior. Four side drawers with leaf handles and pen drawer on right side. Overall good refinished condition with expected wear. 34 1/4" H x 25 1/2" W x 24 1/2" D. Circa 1860. Oral family tradition states that this desk was used in the Knoxville County Courthouse. Provenance: Estate of the late J. N. Lonas, Knoxville, TN.
