Qing Chinese Export porcelain teapot with polychrome enamel decoration of masted ships bearing British flags to both sides of a circular straight sided body, with intertwined handle having raised red sprig design to the terminus. Red and green decoration to the cover and rim of pot; the cover with a molded berry finial. 5 1/8" H x 8 1/2" dia. Circa 1790.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Old fleabite to spout, minor wear to polychrome decoration, losses to gilt decoration to finial.
