Tranter Patent", right side of frame marked with serial number, cylinder with obscured serial number, marked with proper British proof marks. Checkered English walnut stocks, octagonal barrel, iron mounted with foliate engravings, side-mounted loading lever, standard front sight. Barrel length – 6". Overall length – 12". British, late 1850's. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action sticky but functional. Light pepper pitting on barrel with some finish remaining. Checkering and foliate engravings visible.
