Five (5) Chinese decorative items. 1st – 3rd items: Three (3) boxes including one (1) cloisonne butter or soap dish with tiered lid having loop handle, pierce inner liner, and flowering branch design throughout; one (1) champleve enamel metal box with hinged lid, divided interior, and precious object designs throughout, atop four bun feet, stamped "China" to underside; and one (1) red and black lacquer cinnabar box with carved fret motif throughout and figural landscape to lid, inscribed "China" with additional sticker label to underside. Ranging in size from 1 1/4" H x 6 3/8" W x 4 5/8" D to 3 7/8" H x 5 3/8" W x 4 1/4" D. All 20th century. 4th – 5th items: Pair (2) of Chinese dragon turtle cloisonne pricket candlesticks with polychrome decoration on a turquoise ground, bronze handle molded in the shape of a tail, and removable shell topped with pierced structure surrounded by raised copper foliate decoration terminating in bobeche. 6 1/2" H x 3" W x 6" D. Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Williamson County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: 1st – 3rd items: All items in overall good condition. Cloisonne box with light scattered surface wear including minor scratches and oxidation to interior. Enamel box with minor scattered denting. Cinnabar box with wear to corners, including previous repair, as well as minute losses to interior rim, largest measuring 1/8" x 1/4". 4th – 5th items: Both with slight oxidation to bronze. One with repairs along shell perimeter ranging from 3/4" to 1"; shell does not fit properly to body; 1/4" dent on the side of the head; and slightly loose bobeche. One with three repairs ranging from 1/8" to 3/4".
