1st item: Marine Lantern with colorless fresnel lens, American, early twentieth century: galvanized steel case, brass kerosene burner, and glass, 10-1/8" high x 5-1/2" wide x 5" deep. Bears an oval brass plaque reading, George B. Carpenter & Co. Chicago. Note: By oral tradition, this lantern was used on a small Mississippi River steamboat. 2nd item: Marine Lantern with colorless fresnel lens, British, circa 1945; galvanized steel and glass, 24-3/4" high (overall) x 11-7/8" high (lamp only) x 7-5/8" wide x 8" deep. Has a galvanized steel kerosene burner stamped BEC 1945. Bears a stamped label of the Birmingham Engineering Company. Condition: 1st item: Some exterior corrosion and dents, minute nick to edge of glass. 2nd item: Slight to moderate exterior corrosion.
