1st item: Ambrotype of a young cadet attired in a military prep school uniform, pre-Civil War, housed in a patriotic gutta percha case made by Littlefield, Parsons, Company. Image size: 1-3/4" H x 1-1/4" W. Case: 3" H x 2-1/2" W. Descended from the Hall Family, Tidewater Virgina. 2nd item: Two (2) Civil War era carte de visites including one portrait of a South Carolina militia band member (acquired in SC), circa 1860, with pencil inscription en verso reading "W. B. Carroll" (3-7/8" H x 2-1/4" W) and the other of a Union soldier attired in his musician's uniform with his instrument, photographer's stamp reading "W. J. Fell, Sandy Creek, NY" (3-3/4" H x 2-1/2" W). Condition: 1st item: Crack to one corner of case. 2nd item: Overall toning to both. Clipped corners to SC CDV.
