Otesia Harper (Mississippi, b. 1925) cotton hand-stitched quilt, pieced and appliqued, featuring a design of nine white blocks, each containing a red donkey surrounded by a blue border, with the words "Vote Democratic" in the top and lower borders. Signed "Otesia Harper," upper left border. Blue-grey binding and backing. 80" x 71". Circa 1990.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Ronnie Steine, Nashville, by descent from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Steine, acquired through The Arts Company, Nashville.
CONDITION: Scattered minor fraying to thread and red applique edges, overall excellent, clean condition.
