Greene County, Tennessee Hepplewhite dining room table, mahogany and mahogany veneer primary, poplar secondary, consisting of two D shaped banquet ends having curved aprons with string inlay and terminating in tapered Hepplewhite feet. 29 1/2" H x 45" W x 19 1/2" D (78.5" full depth). 1st quarter 19th century. Condition: Refinished and restorations. One table with a new center brace, newer screws with old braces removed. Table could have been previously disassembled and repaired. Drilled out swing leg hinge and replaced metal rod with a 1/4" wooden dowel rod. The second table has an added support brace across the diameter of the top. The swing arm skirt board has been replaced, including the arm of the swing leg. Rear swing leg possibly replaced, repaired/spliced stile on one front leg. General shrinkage and separations for veneer skirts on both tables. CONDITION: Refinished and restorations. One table with a new center brace, newer screws with old braces removed.
