Pair of shaped Chinese black lacquer fans, each having inlaid mother of pearl and painted gilt decoration to one side including foliate sprays to the center and foliate swags to the perimeter; each fitted with turned wood handles. Fans: 10 1/4" H x 8" W. With handles: 16 1/4" H. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Bristol, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Both fans with light use wear, some light craquelure to the surface, one handle slightly loose, the other with old repair at joint.
