Deluxe Philadelphia Deringer, single-shot, .44 caliber. Walnut checkered stock with 4" seven groove, double silver banded barrel, single set trigger, blank silver engraved inscription plaque at the top of the wrist, engraved silver trigger guard, reverse side of action plate, and barrel key escutcheons. Barrel stamped DERINGER PHILADEL and " P ", lock plate stamped DERINGER PHILADEL. 6" total L. Note: this model was produced from produced from 1852 through 1868. Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Mechanically sound. Right stock chipped at shoulder. Barrel swivel loose. one escutcheon missing. Untouched brown patina, dark bore.
