Antique Tekke Turkmen main carpet, wool on wool, primary rust/red field with four (4) rows of eight (8) guls, within one primary foliate border and having a wide upper and lower floral border. Woven in red/rust, blue, and cream colors. 8ft 1in x 5ft 8in. Circa 1870's.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: One vertical repair running almost the length of the rug, with three patch repairs and and L shape repair approx 4×4 inches. Repairs to lower right margins, wear/ losses to both margins and fringed ends.
