Group of four (4) Mughal and Middle Eastern items. 1st item: Mughal watercolor and gouache on paper painting depicting a couple reclining under a canopy, serving each other from a cup and being attended by two figures approaching with a covered dish and a bottle. Housed and matted under glass in a giltwood frame with giltwood fillet. Framer's sticker label, en verso. Sight: 9 3/4" H x 6 3/8" W. Framed: 20 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W. 19th century. 2nd item: Mughal watercolor and gouache on paper painting depicting an elephant with a jeweled tusk in red and gold ceremonial dress with blue and gilt flourish corners, Nastaliq script, and orange and brown with gilt borders surrounding. Housed in a giltwood frame. Pen inscription "Purchased in Udiapur, India 2005" and framer's sticker label, en verso. Sight: 16 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W. Frame: 20 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W. Late 19th to early 20th century. 3rd item: Painted leaf with rose decorated border enclosing Islamic or Persian illuminated calligraphy on a gilt painted background. Scattered gold flecks around the perimeter, possible signature lower right. Housed in a contemporary frame with a matte. Sight: 7 1/2" H x 4 1/4" W. Framed: 13 1/4" H x 10 1/4" W. 4th item: Framed pair of pages from an Arabic prayer book with black and gilt ink on paper housed with a marbled red rabbet and gilt fillet under glass in a giltwood frame. Printed label with age, description, framing specifications, en verso of frame. Sights: 4 1/2" H x 2 3/4" W. Frame: 12 1/2" H x 15 5/8" W. 17th century.
