Early 19th century watercolor and silk needlework picture, possibly American, depicting Pharaoh's daughter discovering Baby Moses in a basket boat among the bulrushes, with trees and pyramids in the background. Original eglomise mat and molded giltwood frame. Sight – 17" x 13 1/2". Frame – 24" x 21".
CONDITION: Embroidered picture in overall excellent and stable condition with light toning and fading. Small minor area of thread breaks right side, center, and some scattered pinpoint sized holes to silk. Eglomise frame has some scattered minor crazing and losses to silvering but remains in overall good condition. Expected wear to gilding on frame; 1 3/4" loss to top center of outer edge of frame. Lacks original backing.
