U.S. Cavalry N. Starr saber and scabbard, Starr contract of 1818. Ricasso marked "US LS N.STARR" (Nathan Starr, Middletown, CT). Iron backstrap/ pommel, reverse P hilt, and wooden grip. Blade – 34". Overall – 40 1/2" L. Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Blade and hilt with oxidation, no visible nicks to blade, wire missing from grip, scabbard with old solder repair and possibly repainted.
