Grouping of three East Tennessee turned chairs with finials, possibly Greene Co. Items 1 & 2 -Two (2) child chairs, the first having an old, dark surface, arched slats, turned arms, split oak seat, and tapered feet, The second child chair with an older refinish, shaped upper slat, tapered arms, split oak seat. One measures 23 1/8" H x 14 3/4" W x 9 1/2" D. The other: 24 1/4" H x 15" W x 11 1/2" D. Both chairs 1st half of the 19th century. 3rd item – Weaver chair with teardrop finials and three arched arched slats, tapered feet, and newer split oak seat. 34 1/4" H x 17" W x 13 1/4" D. Second half of the 19th century. Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: Items 1 & 2 – Both chairs with wear to the finials, second chair with older refinish having broken lower slat, losses to feet, 3rd item – replaced split oak seat.
