Classical period mahogany card table with poplar secondary, rectangular fold-over top with rounded corners and highly figured veneers, gilt stencil-decorated skirt and balustered base (Possibly later 19th century addition), acanthus legs ending in paw feet. 30 1/2" H x 36" W x 18" D. Probably New York, early 19th century. Provenance: Estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: One toe front missing from front left, significant cracks and repairs to veneer on top and skirt of top, losses to the geometric skirt stenciled border, some veneer loss to bottom of base, minor scuffing to feet.
