Two (2) Kasamatsu Shiro (Japan, 1898-1991) shin-hanga oban color woodblock prints. 1st item: “Kasumu yube, Shinobazu ikehata (Hazy Evening on the Shore of Shinobazu Pond),” 1932. The branches of a tree hang over the surface of Shinobazu Pond in Ueno Park, Tokyo. Fog casts a blue tint over several figures, lanterns, and a Torii gate in the background. Published by Shozaburo Watanabe with publisher’s “D” seal, used 1931-41, lower right margin. With artist’s seal to tree trunk, lower left. Printed title, signature, and 1932 date to left margin. Unframed. Sheet: 15 in. H x 10 1/8 in. W. 2nd item: “Sacred Bridge at Nikko,” 1941. Gentle rain falls as a figure walks toward the Shinkyo Bridge near the Futarasan Jinja Shrine in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. Published by Shozaburo Watanabe with post-war approximately 7mm publisher’s seal, lower right. With artist’s seal to lower right. Unframed: 10 1/2 in. H x 15 1/2 in. W.
