Finely carved and stained ivory rose and vine okimono with original wooden box. A naturalistic carved rose branch with four flowers, each in different stages of bloom. Blue "Made in Japan" label fixed to one leaf. 14-1/4" L x 6" H x 7-1/2" W. Stamped box measures 10" H x 16-1/4" W x 9-1/2" D. Japanese, 20th century. Provenance: private Knoxville, TN collector. Condition: Break to sepal of first partially open bud with possible old repaired break to red portion of branch. Age crack to one leaf.
