Small walnut blanket chest or box, ogee molding for top and base, dovetailed case with front panel having highly figured walnut, bracket feet having elaborate cutout spurs. Interior till, poplar secondary wood. 23"H x 37 1/2"W x 19"D. Second quarter of 19th century. Probably Indiana or Kentucky. Provenance – Lexington, Kentucky area collection. Condition: Older surface, patches to back panel where hinges moved, spur return on right rear foot replaced, case with minor stains and abrasions.
