1ST ITEM: Boston mahogany lyre card table with white pine secondary, rectangular tops with canted corners and a molded edge above a conforming frieze, the carved lyre support inset with 5 brass rods with covered sides, the concave plinth raised on carved and molded legs, ending in paw foot brass casters. Possibly Thomas Wightman. 29 3/4" H x 35 3/4" W x 17 3/4" D. Early 19th century. 2ND ITEM: Boston mahogany lyre card table with white pine secondary, rectangular tops with canted corners and a molded edge above a conforming frieze, the carved lyre support inset with 3 brass rods, the concave plinth raised on carved and molded legs, ending in pawfoot brass casters. 29 1/2" H x 35 1/2" W x 18 1/4" D. Early 19th century. Note: these two tables are a close match with the construction being done in the exact same manner, however, the oxidation pattern on table #2 suggests later 19th century construction. Provenance: estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Very good condition with French polished surfaces. 1ST ITEM: minor cracking to the block where the legs attached, legs have been strengthened with modern steel straps. 2ND ITEM: Left front leg has some splitting but appears structurally sound.
