1st Item: Chinese Export turquoise or peacock glaze Buddha figure with gilt metal mounted base having peony and lotus decoration. Accompanied by an associated pierced hardwood stand. Buddha: 3 1/2" H x 3 7/8" W x 3 1/2" D. 2nd item: Chinese Export earthenware parrot. 9 1/2" H x 3 3/8" W x 3 3/8" D. 3rd item: Small Buddhist carved lacquer travel shrine with Chinese characters and floral decoration on the exterior. The shrine opens to reveal a Gandhara-style Buddha, hands in the Abhaya Mudra, flanked by two Bodhisattvas on different panels, all surrounded by attendants. Open- 8" W x 6" H. Closed: 3 1/2" W. First three items late 19th to mid 20th century. 4th item: Chinese or Thai giltwood standing Buddha figure, mounted in a wooden base. Figure: 6 3/4" H x 2 1/2" W. Overall with base: 8" H. 19th century. 5th item: Chinese Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) or Yuan style greyware pottery recumbent sheep figurine. 4" H x 6 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee estate.
CONDITION: 1st-2nd items: Some surface grime, crazing and fealbites; bird exhibits losses to glaze, particularly at the base. Hardwood stand with repair to one foot and loss to rim. 3rd item: Overall good condition with some chipping, wear, and patination. 4th item-5th items: Both items in overall good condition. 4th item: Wear, areas of loss, largest 1 7/8" x 1/2", to giltwood. 5th item: Scattered areas of loss, firing flaws.
