A pair of small Southern walnut cabinets, attributed to East Tennessee. 1st item: Small walnut one door cabinet with arched top, scratch beaded stiles, large dovetails to top and base, square nails. Interior walnut shelves, yellow pine backboard. 23 1/2" H x 14" W x 8 1/8" D. Second quarter of 19th century. 2nd item: Small walnut two door cabinet with beveled panels and relief carved rectangles, mortised doors, interior with cubby holes and shelves, square nail construction, poplar secondary wood. 22" H x 23 3/4" W x 11 1/2" D. Circa 1840. Provenance: Gatlinburg, TN collection. Condition: 1st item: replaced hinges on door, dry surface with wear expected for age. 2nd item: older refinish, interior missing one vertical divider, appears to retain the original hinges.
