Large Italian Majolica lidded urn decorated in the Renaissance Style in the manner of Orazio Fontana, featuring two portrait busts with Latin descriptions below to each side of the body on a white ground with polchome decoration, including scrolling foliate, griffin, bird, grotesque, and various heraldic images. Red maker's mark to the base together with two other red inscriptions to the base edge. 26" H. 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition, light overall craquelure to the glaze, light general wear.
