Classical mahogany veneered dresser or dressing bureau, mahogany, poplar, and white pine secondary. Looking glass supported by turned posts with carved capitals, atop a bank of two recessed drawers, the lower case with two projecting drawers over three graduated drawers flanked by tapering columns with carved capitals. Drawers are dovetailed and fitted with brass ring pulls. Bulbous ring turned feet. Original pulls. French polished. 77"h x 45 1/4"w x 22 1/8"d. Boston, circa 1825. Provenance: estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Overall excellent condition with some clouding to mirror, losses to glue blocks, minor small area of veneer loss lower left front, minor abrasions and shrinkage checks.
