Froude's History of England From the Fall of Wolsey to The Defeat of the Spanish Armada, Vol. I-XII, by James Anthony Froude, 1870. Published by Longsman, Green, and Company, London. Octavos, 6,661 total marble edged pages, rebound in full brown tree calf leather with decorative gilt blind stamped borders and spines, gilt lettering to spines, five raised hubs to each spine, marbled end papers. Approximately 8 3/4" H x 6" W x 2" D. Provenance: the collection of Frank Ingraham, Tap Root Farm, Franklin, Tennessee. CONDITION: Overall good condition with wear, foxing spots, toning, areas of dampstaining/acid burn, etc. to be expected from age and manner of use. Front and back covers of Vol. I separated from spine.
