Lot of two banjos found in a Hawkins County Tennessee Estate. 1ST ITEM: Early 20th Century, Southern folk art banjo. Five string banjo with rusting to metal outside rim, with oxidation to two bracket pegs. Wear commensurate with age, some strings missing. Tuning pegs are wooden with fifth string peg missing. Drum of stretched hide, with a metal flesh hoop. Bracket hooks with American Eagle motif. Drum diameter: 11 _ ì, Overall length: 34". 2ND ITEM: Early 20th Century, Manufactured (not branded) banjo, Maple neck, full fret with mother of pearl fret indicators. Metal tuning mechanisms with wooden handles have been repositioned. Drum diameter: 11î, Overall length: 34".
