Six (6) Pre-Columbian pottery and stone effigies, including Colima culture. 1st item: Colima culture buff ware with brown polychrome hollow human effigy pottery figure of a seated male with elongated head and upturned face, his folded arms resting on his knees and shoulder. 1 1/4" hole to back of head. "3" inscribed under old scotch tape, underside of base. 11 1/2" H x 6" W x 7 1/2" D. 2nd item: Colima culture buff ware pottery tripod vessel with red polychrome designs to body and feet. "2" inscribed under old scotch tape, underside of base. 4 1/8" H x 8" dia. 3rd item: Colima culture red ware with black and red polychrome animal effigy pottery vessel with dog like head, two legs, and tail applied to round body with small, round neck. Old black attribution labels and "5" inscribed under old scotch tape, underside of base. 2 1/4" H x 3" W x 4 1/2" D. 5th Century AD. 4th item: Buff ware human effigy pottery figurine with red and brown polychrome decorations detailing an elaborate headdress, face with slanted eyes, and rounded body. Two holes to nose, two holes to either side of neck, two holes to underside of each leg. 6 1/4" H x 4 3/4" W x 4 3/8" D. 5th item: Red ware with red and black polychrome hollow human effigy pottery figurine of a seated male with headdress, nose with nose plug, ears with earrings, collar necklace, flat chest, and long, folded arms. 1" hole to back of head. 7 1/8" H x 5 1/4" H x 4" D. 6th item: Buff stone with black slip carved human effigy bust figurine with elongated face, carved headdress with earrings, and short arms. 4 5/8" H x 3 1/4" W x 2 1/2" D. Provenance: Estate of Celia (Cece) Webb, Nashville, TN; the majority of items were purchased from the Parthenon, Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1970s. CONDITION: Overall good condition with wear, areas of loss, etc. to be expected from age. 1st item: Two hairlines, largest approximately 5 1/4", radiating from hole to back of head. Areas of loss to polychrome. 2nd item: Approximately 8" old repair extending from lip to bottom of base. Areas of loss to polychrome, 3/8" chip to lip. Firing flaws. 3rd item: Chips, largest 1/2" to ears and lip of vessel. Areas of loss to polychrome. Firing flaws. 4th item: Areas of loss to polychrome.
