George III Irish Hepplewhite inlaid harewood card or game table, rectangular overhanging top with inlaid oval patera, string inlay and crossbanded edges; straight skirt with highly figured veneer, and four square tapering veneered legs. Hinged top opens to a green baize lined surface and is supported on a rear fly leg. 29 1/3"H x 32"W x 16"D. Circa 1790.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Some fading and warping to top creating a slightly curved surface; scattered cracks, lifting and replacements to veneer on top; 4" area of loss to inlay at top edge; veneer chips and patches up to 1" L on legs. Interior baize replaced. Some worm holes to rear skirt. 2" area of loose veneer at rear corner left edge of top.
