Federal Tennessee Desk and bookcase or secretary with figured walnut primary wood and poplar secondary. Upper case with fitted ogee cornice molding over blind paneled door, case with two interior shelves. Lower desk section has fall front writing section with bank of pigeonholes under drawers and a central prospect door flanked by two vertical hidden drawers. Other drawer and hidden compartments behind prospect doors. Four graduated scratch beaded and dovetailed drawers with round brasses, over a shaped skirt and French feet. 93 1/2" H x 42" W x 22 1/4" D. First quarter of 19th century. Condition: Overall good condition with desk and bookcase being an old association. The bookcase has had doors reset. Patch to hinge of fall board, replaced brasses in original holes, and repairs/separation to skirt.
