Three hundred and twenty-three (323) Native American artifacts, including Abel Site, Florida fish net fragment. 1st item: Abel Site, Florida century plant or yucca charred fish net fragment. Museum accession number and handwritten attribution note, en verso. Housed under glass in an oval metal frame. Fragment – 2 3/4" H x 1 7/8" W. Framed – 4 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W. Note: Handwritten note with attributed states that the fragment was found "…in 1932 and acquired by J.E. Moore, a retired Smithsonian man on 4/24/51. See page 17, 'Terra Ceia Site, Manatee County, Fla.' published by Univ of Fla. in 1951. Acquired from Moore 6/12/59". 2nd item: Copper circular breastplate fragment with pierce hole to top center. One sticker label. 3 3/4" H x 5" W. 3rd-8th items: Five (5) clay trade pipe bowls, four (4) with molded human effigies and one (1) with deep, curved lines. Approximately 1 3/4" H x 1 5/8" L x 1 1/8" D. 9th-74th items: Sixty-five (65) carved stone and flint Nodena points. Most with accession numbers. Housed under glass in a wooden case. Ranging in size from 1" L x 5/8" W to 2 1/4" L x 7/8" W. Case – 11 1/4" H x 20 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D. 66th-113th items: Forty-eight (48) Columbia River carved stone, obsidian, and flint bird points. Two old sticker labels, front of case, handwritten attribution inscription, en verso of case. Ranging in size from 5/8" L x 1/2" W to 1 3/8" L x 3/8" D. Case – 13" H x 17 3/8" W x 1 3/8" D. Note: Attribution inscription reads "Fine Columbia River Finds by Chas. Beckman…". 114th item: Talley Farm, Sumner County, Tennessee strand of marginella shells of varying sizes, strung with modern materials. Old paper label with attribution. Approximately 22 1/2" L. 115th-117th items: Three (3) strands of small marginella shells, strung with modern materials. Approximately 33 1/2" L. 5th item: String of white tube and barrel shell beads of varying sizes, strung with modern materials. Approximately 25 1/2" L. 118th-182nd items: Group of sixty-four (64) assorted artifacts, including fifty-six (56) round stone or pottery beads, two (2) rock pendants with incised designs, two (2) stone projectile points, two (2) marginella shells, one (1) grey ware pottery tube bead, one (1) clear stone, and one (1) metal fragment. Ranging in size from 3/8" dia. to 2" W. 183rd-323rd items: One hundred and forty (140) obsidian buttons of varying sizes, each with pierced hole to center. Ranging in size from approximately 1/2" dia. to 5/8" dia. Provenance: Consignor inherited from the estate of Dr. Joseph Stickley of Chattanooga, TN (d. 2001). CONDITION: Overall good condition with chips, wear, etc. to be expected from age and manner of use. 1st-113th items: Not examined outside of cases.
