Federal fan-inlaid bow-front chest of drawers, likely New England, cherry with white pine secondary, featuring original “Peace” brasses. Top with crossbanded and chevron inlaid front edges, over a conforming case with four graduated dovetailed drawers, each having fan inlay at each corner, oval brass pulls with embossed flying doves holding olive branches, under the word PEACE, and faux escutcheons (drawers never had locks). Front yoke shaped skirt with French feet and inlaid banding; sides with arch-curved skirts. 34 in. H x 41 1/2 in. W x 23 1/8 in. D. Circa 1810.

The estate of Dr. W. Harwell Murrey, Middle TN.
CONDITION:
Overall good condition. Small strip of veneer loss to top edge of third drawer. Some repairs to front foot facings, rear feet blocks replaced, facings original. Some of the lower edges of the drawer supports have been built up. Scattered shrinkage cracks, small losses and abrasions.
