Chinese carved soapstone sculpture of a Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, depicted in Padmasana (Lotus) position, her hands in namaskar mudra, with elongated ears wearing a crown, veil, and robe inscribed with floral and cloud motifs, seated upon a lotus base. 11 7/8" H x 6 1/2" W x 4 1/4" D.
PROVENANCE: Private Illinois Collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minor scattered natural fissures.
