Pair (2) of George III style Edwardian painted satinwood armchairs after the English Cabinet maker, George Seddon, featuring inset caned backs with painted center medallions depicting cupids, double inset caned arm, and caned seats. The satinwood chair frames are painted in the neoclassical style with floral sprays and green floral accents and are supported on delicately turned legs with casters. 38" H x 26" W x 21" D. 13.5" H of seat (frame, not cushion). 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both overall very good condition with minor wear and crazing to the painted finish commensurate with age. The cane is intact and in very good condition, seats are fitted with two loose seat cushions.
