George III Chippendale mahogany convertible table. Consisting of a molded hinged top that opens and rests on wood supports above one false drawer fitted with a brass pull, that pulls out to reveal a green baize writing surface that in turn, slides forward to reveal a fitted desk interior including a swivel fitted compartment to the right side. All above straight legs with returns below the drawer on castors. 31 3/4" H x 35 1/2" W x 24 1/2" D. English, Late 18th/early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with older refinished surface, ink spotting noted to left side. Work surface below top with horizontal wood shrinkage/crack. Minor general expected use wear.
