English George III style "Carton Pierre" looking glass with bracket shelf. Crest with two griffins flanking a Neoclassical urn and holding draped garlands in their mouths, over a shield form mirrored plate, the base and small under-shelf with garland, scrolling, and leaf decoration. Mounted to a wood backing. 40" H x 17 1/2" W x 6 1/2" D. English, 19th Century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Condition commensurate with age. Natural wood shrinkage and scattered areas where plaster coating has been restored, some scattered gilt loss. Some spotting to mirror.
