Four (4) Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma porcelain vases, including one (1) miniature baluster form vase having vignettes of figural processions to either side surrounded by low-relief brocaded geometric patterning, character mark within leaf form to underside; one (1) miniature baluster form urn or vase with elephant head handles having figural landscape vignettes of monks to either side, character mark to underside; and two (2) hexagonal vases with figural landscape vignettes of scholars, their aides, and their tools to each side having floral or quilong medallions to shoulder, impressed maker's mark to undersides. Ranging in size from 3 3/4" H x approx. 1 1/2" dia. to 12" H x approx. 5 1/2" dia.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All items with wear to gilding including moderate wear to larger vases.
