Sterling Boyd Strauser (Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) oil on board still life painting depicting a colorful bouquet of flowers within a narrow vase on a pastel green background. Signed and dated "Strauser '68" lower center. Housed in a ebonized wooden frame with gilt painted accent band and sight edge. Sight: 15 1/2" H x 11 5/8" W. Framed: 23 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W. Also includes a signed photograph of Strauser's work being exhibIted within a large feed store in Pennsylvania. Float mounted under glass in a wooden frame. Sight: 6" H x 8 7/8" W. Framed: 9 1/2" H x 12" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of noted Tennessee artist Marion Bryant Cook, acquired directly from Sterling Strauser, who was a personal friend.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Photograph with minor wear to edges.
