Classical carved mahogany and mahogany veneer card or games table, attributed to the Anthony Quervelle workshop. Rectangular fold-over top with rounded and foliate carved corners resting on an elaborate acanthus leaf carved pedestal, the quadruped base with carved double shell finials, table resting on figural dolphin feet. 28 1/2" H x 35 1/2" (open, 17 3/4" not opened) x 36" W. Philadelphia, second quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Griff and Dallas Adams, Johnson City, Tennessee. Property descending from the collection of TN Supreme Court Justice Thaddeus Cox and Pearl Cox, originally housed in "The Oaks", Johnson City, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with general use wear. Some minor losses to veneer to legs and base. Rubbing to dolphin heads. Top with some minor wear and staining.
