Sterling Strauser (Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) oil on board abstract expressionist still life painting depicting a table laden with various fruits, including a pear, orange, and bouquet of grapes, rendered in a heavy impasto technique against a white background. Signed and dated "Strauser 72" lower right. Housed in a contemporary gilt wood frame with an ebonized frieze and gilt filet. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W. Framed: 14 1/2" H x 18 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
