American Classical gilt-carved and gesso girandole and bull's eye mirror. Consisting of a gilt carved frame with rococo style crest and base and two scrolling arms to each side supporting one candle holder and one carved urn, centered by a convex mirror accented by applied ball or orb shaped ornaments. 31" total H x 25 1/2" W. Circa 1820-1840. Purchased from Gail Kopcsak, American Classical II Antiques, Nashville, Tennessee, 2003. A copy of the receipt is available to the winning bidder.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Some scattered repaired breaks to crest and base with 3" area of loss to decorative carving at base. Scattered minor losses to gilt. One ball surrounding mirror is missing. Losses to silvering of glass.
