American Chippendale Delaware Valley walnut side chair, yellow pine secondary, having a yolk-shaped top rail with curved ears and central carved shell, pierced splat, trapezoidal slip seat, and front cabriole legs with trifid feet. Seat with 20th century needlework upholstery. 41 1/2" H x 20 1/2" W x 16" D. Southeast Pennsylvania, 18th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of William and Fletch Coke, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with use wear commensurate with age. Two front seat blocks contemporary replacements. Later added upholstery.
