First bound edition of this work by Dr. Edwin Drake. Marbled binding with quarter bound black leather spine. Four raised hubs to spine with gold title work. Contains the original nine issues of 'The Annals of the Army of Tennessee.' Signed and dated, "Edw. D. Hicks, 1882" in pencil on reverse of front free endpaper. Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Text is very clean. Binding is sound. Minor scuffing to boards and spine.
