Aesthetic Movement specimen marble top game or side table, featuring a marble top with a central inlaid checkerboard pattern composed of various stone samples, supported on an ebonized carved wood base with relief carved floral reserves to the skirt and four square incised legs, joined by a Japanese inspired carved openwork undertier decorated with birds and leaves. 29"H x 20" diameter. Probably American, circa 1875.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Sally Flowers Moody, Kentucky.
CONDITION: Base with some minor wear and abrasions, undertier has been broken in several places and repaired. Marble top in overall good condition with a few scattered edge chips up to 1/4" and some old tape/sticker residue.
