1st item: Two hand stitched appliqued cotton quilts. Meandering leaf and vine pattern quilt, 2 part construction, hand and machine stitching, with red, tan, and green calico appliqued pattern on ivory background with ivory binding, 83" x 66 1/2". 2nd item: Oak leaf variant pattern quilt, green and red appliqued pattern on white background with red binding. (72" x 86 1/2"). Possibly East Tennessee, late 19th century. Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: 1st quilt: overall light discoloration and fading with several small stains, some dark (2"largest), needs laundering. 2nd quilt: Several scattered stains, largest 3"L, light edge wear and overall fading.
