Pair of Baroque style armchairs with tapestry upholstered seats and backs depicting 18th century figures and landscapes, all trimmed in gold velvet. Each chair features a rectangular canted back, carved walnut arms and scrolled handrests, upholstered seats with tassel fringe, and block and ring turned legs and stretchers. 47 in. H x 26 1/2 in. W x 30 in. D. Chairs are English or Continental, late 19th century. Tapestry elements appear to be older, likely Northern European, 18th century.

The estate of Ann B. Lee, Franklin, TN.
CONDITION:
Significant wear and losses to tapestry seats, although the tapestry pieces on the backs remain in good condition with light wear and fading. Some light wear and fading to velvet. Chairs in very solid structural condition with minor wear to wood elements.
