19th century carved mahogany cake board with central relief-carved bird, flower, wreath and scalloped border designs, signed "J.Y. Watkins, NY", lower right corner. 8 1/4" H x 8 5/8" W. New York, Mid-to-Late 19th century. Note: James Y. Watkins was the successor to John Conger, one of the most famous New York mold makers and bakers from 1825 to 1845. Condition: Retains old patina.
