Southern inlaid tea caddy, possibly Baltimore, Maryland, primary wood likely cherry. Rectangular form with domed top; inlaid ovals on top and front side; the left, right, and back sides adorned with inlaid ovals surrounded by flower and vine borders; the corners and edges adorned with vine inlay. Interior covered in green wood fabric, lid interior covered in red paper. Retains the original hardware and finish. 6" H x 8 1/8" W x 5" D. Early 19th century. Provenance – Lexington, Kentucky area collection. Condition: Allover alligatoring to surface. Missing the escutcheon inlay and interior divider.
